Flying Llangollen Friday 23rd July 2010

We all went to Llangollen this afternoon from about 2pm and boy was it good. Started light and variable but slowly came on. Stuart Lloyd and Dave Edwards skied out to 4,500 ASL in an excellent display of getting out and up. Sprinty and I were playing on the Tandem all day which was great fun, Sprinty even let me fly him today even after I broke his Tandem earlier on. I have a needle and cotton on stand by if needed.

Andrew Wilson from Coventry turned up and after a few trips to the bottom landing fields was rewarded with a brilliant flight on the last hour of the day.

The wind switched off around 7pm when we all went home.

Two days flying so far with Saturday looking a little iffy at the moment, looks southerly and possible rain. Sunday looks possible for Llangollen or Long Mountain but Sprinty and I are likely to head over to Harlech Cliffs to fly the Tandems. If anyone would like to fly the Tandems on a beautiful part of the west coast then come along and join us. Everyone is welcome.

Here’s hoping we get to fly Saturday as 3 out of 3 would be good.

Just putting today’s video together, not sure if anyone took photos today?

Fly Safe

A lovely afternoon/evening's flying. Not much ridge lift but a lot of thermal activity, so you could stay up or if you were unlucky you went down to the bottom. Thanks for the lift back up Nick! ( I was unlucky - not crap at thermalling)
