Long Mynd was working a treat last night. 6:20 launch into interesting air, it was bouyant, a little bubbly here and there, sometimes getting a tad strong, then smooth as...
Although it seemed a little strong on launch, penetration of up to 9mph was possible out front but with a good 35+mph ground speed heading back towards the hill. The air was nice and warm with max alt of 650ft ATO.
Dave J-H and myself eventually top landing at 8:35ish after everyone else had gone home.

Yep you defo had the best of it whilst I watched in envy.... ggggrrrrrrr!!!!!
I took off flew for 10 mins and landed as I thought it was a tad top end and off to the south.
Watched you guys and Mark on his Tandem for about 15 mins before having another go. It was still top end but smooth as a silk floating around at 300ft ato. After 20 mins I noticed my ground speed was over 30mph on the down wind leg so time to get down.
Came in for a top land turned into wind and knew I was going to get blown back so banked right and dropped into the bracken to the right off take off.
The wind then stayed around 22-27mph peaking at 32mph but you and DJH where having no problems. It was to strong to safely take off again so I packed up and left leaving you two having a great night..... GREEN WITH ENVY!!!!!!
Maybe on tonight? Wing is going in the boot just in case.

I was tempted to come down after work after a tip off it might be on, but after picking my car up from the garage time was ticking on and looking at the forecast I thought it might be a bit strong.
Reading your comments it looks like by the time I'd have got there it would have been too strong for me to launch anyway so I'm glad I didn't make the trek down there.
Glad you guys got a flight in anyway, it's all a bit rubbish up in the north at the moment :-(

Great photo`s Steve,
Definitly a bit on the strong side last night but great fun. The top landing was interesting too. Its so good when you`ve driven from work and get rewarded with over an hours evening soaring. Makes the day worthwhile. I`m hoping to get out Thursday evening. Looks good for the Lawley.
Any takers ?
DJH
